Speed Tuttminx Instructions

The whole process was divided into 4 major steps: 1)core parts preparation 2)moving parts preparation 3)assemble of moving parts 4)applying stickers.

1. Preparation of core parts

The spherical core was composed of hexagonal parts, pentagonal parts and snap-in clips.

1.1 Preparation of pentagonal parts: 1)wider side of nut toward spherical center 2)no more than 5 times of adjust is suggested due to self-threading screws used.

1.2 Preparation of hexagonal parts: 1)wider side of nut toward spherical center 2)no more than 5 times of adjust is suggested due to self-threading screws used.

1.3 Assembling core:1)snap-in clips were designed for one-time use. Be sure to check correctness of pentagonal parts and hexagonal parts.

2. Moving parts preparation

There are 3 types of moving parts: pent-hex edge, hex-hex edge and corner.

2.1 Preparation of pent-hex edge: beware of self-threading screws, they are usually designed for one time use. Keep force sensible for safety reason. If over screwed, please use super glue instead of screw.

2.2 Preparation of hex-hex edge: beware of self-threading screws, they are usually designed for one time use. Keep force sensible for safety reason. If over screwed, please use super glue instead of screw.

2.3 Preparation of corner: beware of self-threading screws, they are usually designed for one time use. Keep force sensible for safety reason. If over screwed, please use super glue instead of screw.

3. Assembling moving parts

3.1 Local assembly

Assemble 5 pent-hex edge and 5 corner around pentagonal centers. Keep narrower side of pent-hex edge and sharper corner of corner part toward pentagonal center.

3.2 Global assembly: apply above step to all pentagonal centers and insert hex-hex edge between hexagonal centers gradually as assembly grows.

4. Applying stickers

In order to achieve best result, it is highly recommended to apply stickers piece by piece.

Keep texture orientation preserved on pentagonal faces to achieve best visual effect.

5. Special advice

5.1 By using self-threading screws and plastic nuts, no more than 5 times of tension adjust is recommended.

5.2 Screws used by moving parts are not the only way to hold parts together. Carefully applying super glue between layers of parts is applicable. If you ever over-driven a screw, try later option.

5.3 It is recommended to apply lube on nuts inside the core. This will increase responsiveness of central parts.

5.4 Assembled model comes without pre-lube. To achieve best performance, please use appropriate lubes.
